The joining elements, called friction elements are made of steel, which are available in different geometries, lengths and strength classes. The selection of the right type is defined by the thickness of the upper layer and the base sheet metal, the material of the joining partners and the installation space of the joining point. The friction elements typically have a zinc-nickel coating for corrosion protection.
